It was the first day of the weekend hop festival. So I walked into town and sold some books at Past Sentence before heading to the festival itself, which is all over the town. I took loads of pics now that I am awake after a late siesta.

Another dry and generally sunny and slightly warmer as well. Less wind about and it was very pleasant walking into town midday. I pooped into my local to try two more beers from the range of beers available for the festival. I have tried six already from the list of 25 beers ( Read more... )

Well, it was a quiet relaxing day. I popped into town to get some provisions and had a couple of pints at my local pub. I then came home after the drinks and made my meal which was a very delicious mushroom, veg, and peppers katsu curry.

During October Spoons had their beer festival (9th to 20th) and these were the beers (from a selection of 40) that I tried -

Hook Norton Steaming On 3.8 % ABV - a light golden session ale.

Arkells 3B 4.0 % ABV - a ruby coloured ale that I found disappointing  and bland.

Cotleigh 40 Years 4.3 % ABV - a fruity pale ale.

Today I travelled around Kent via the the local rail services. I have done these before so it was easy to do and more than that , it pays well.

BUT now the Spoons beer festival is on again I am here back in town - having done the last rail trip - sloshing quality pints of ale down my gullet.

Ar last - some respite from the recent inclement weather. It is actual;y been dry with just an inkling of sunshine. Blue skies abound ...and i wonder why couldn't yesterday be like it or at least reversed. As it is, i did not sleep in,but felt afresh from a good night if slumber.
